Just don't take our word
What do they say about us
My name is Luca Cini and I live in Siena in an 85 square meter apartment, inside a condo. Here it is impossible to make a thermal coat, because the outside of the building is made up of exposed bricks.
I bought Afoncasa’s Afonthermo and started insulating my house in 2011, one room at a time.
This year I decided to get the internal staircase insulated, thus completing the upper floor (the lower floor still needs to be insulated). Now, in November the temperature, without turning on the heating, is 20 degrees (68 F) upstairs and 19 (66.2 F) downstairs. I was able to recover at least 6 degrees (42.8 F), as the upstairs floor is in contact with the under roof. I insulated the exterior walls and the ceiling, so the heating costs went down over 50%.
I live alone at the moment, but a curious episode happened. I used to carry out the self-reading of the gas meters, and the company always charged me more than what I actually consumed. Then last year, without telling me anything, they changed my meter and for over six months I didn't pay anything, because I was on credit. I assumed that they thought the meter was broken, since then they only charged me for what I actually consumed.
I'll update you when I get the exterior walls insulated.
Best regards
My letter wants to be a thank you to the Pontedera company Afon Casa. Thanks to their product, the anti-condensation thermal skim coat, I have easily and definitively solved my problems in my house with mold and cold, and also with the summer heat. I have been living in Messina in a cooperative house on the top floor for the last 2 years; my bedroom, the girls' bedroom and the living room have 2 large walls facing northeast. During the winter season the rooms were always cold and damp, the walls filled with mold. The solutions suggested to me were all very expensive and with dubious results. So I started surfing the web looking for solutions and information to my thorny problem.
I was lucky and found a website, EdilPortale, which suggested the use of AfonCasa products. In short, I contacted the administrative office and ordered the product they suggested me. The product has greatly helped to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. And so, with the sole help of my brother-in-law, a mathematics teacher, who like me is not very used to this type of work, I created a very effective internal thermal coat. A special thanks goes to Mr. Michele Leonardi for his kindness and assistance, allowing me to carry out the work with ease and good execution.
Thanks again.
I hereby wish to express to this esteemed company the high degree of personal satisfaction with the use of your AFONTERMO smoothing plaster in the internal lining of the perimeter surfaces of my home.
Following the use of the aforementioned thermally insulating plaster, which took place about a year ago, exactly at the beginning of last winter season, I was able to detect a widespread sensation of environmental well-being. This can probably be associated with the constant internal temperature of the aforementioned surfaces, perceptible at manual contact, and the substantial absence of internal humidity in the various seasonal climatic conditions. Everything thanks to an almost normal plaster thickness and in any case decidedly contained compared to traditional invasive thermal insulation systems. I would also add that I have found a not negligible reduction in the annual consumption of fuel required for heating the building.
I therefore offer my best compliments and best wishes for commercial success and best regards.
We’re running a farming business and decided to renovate an old Tuscan house using your thermal plaster. At first I was rather sceptical about the product’s success but once I used and tested it, I totally changed my mind. I’m really satisfied with the product because I can save up to 40/50% of pellets in the boiler. I'm sure that despite the initial cost (and it's one of the cheapest on the market) I'll be able to amortize it within five years.
Thanks to Mr. Lanza, inventor of Afoncasa, for his collaboration during the execution phase, with his several inspections.
I will highly recommend this product for a house or apartment renovation.
Best regards
Dear Engineer Mr. Lanza,
it is with great pleasure that I’m writing to you.
We used your products (AFONTERMO reflective skim coat TYPE “A” - TYPE “B” and REFLECTIVE THERMAL PAINT) last summer in our apartment and this has really improved our life quality.
We lived almost twenty years in a ground floor apartment, damp and almost all the walls of the house were full of mold.
A situation that had become unbearable.
From the point of view of health, that mold which we had been trying in vain to eradicate over the years, gave me multiple allergies.
Due to the high costs, sustained by purchasing products that were sold as miraculous, but which in reality were useless palliatives. Their effect lasted a few months and then the problems promptly reappeared: on the walls with brown, black and “hairy” moulds, on the floors with famous "dew corners" (better to say real puddles on the rooms’ corners), in the furniture. And not to forget clothes and linen that were always damp and impregnated with a terrible musty smell.
Now when we enter the house everything is dry!
The air is breathable, light, my lungs – after years of chronic bronchitis – are fine! And above all THE ENERGY SAVING IS CONSIDERABLE!
In recent years, the boiler thermostat during the winter months was fixed at 22/23 degrees (71/73 F) and despite this, there was always a lot of humidity and the house was cold….
Now, the thermostat is set between 16.5 and 17 degrees (61.7 and 62.6), the walls are dry, warm and we’re really feeling good!
What else should I say? Facts speak for themselves.
The only regret is not having learned, a long time ago, of your company’s innovative materials for healthy and comfortable building.
For all these reasons I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you and your family all the best for a great new year.
With the hope that many other families, like ours, will become aware of your company’s building materials and thus be able to live in their homes with a better and healthier life quality, as we are now enjoying.
Thanks again.
Dear Ing. Lanza, I saw from your brochures that satisfied customers were writing to thank you for your products and advice I feel compelled to do so as well.
I am a mother of three is the owner of a house in the mountains where cold, mold and a lot of ambient humidity reigned for that it is really an "upside down" house (not sunny).
To heat it we had 2 boilers from "Riello" oil-fired 40 KW each. We kept them at medium to high speed by also getting help from 2 pellet stoves for an annual expenditure of 5-6 thousand plus pellets. We had an estimate done for an exterior coat. The estimate was 35000 € plus scaffolding (since it is a 4-level house).
Having learned about your niche product AFONTERMO in May 2013, we purchased and applied it internally for a total of 250 m2. Since then we have seen an improvement inside the home by permanently wiping out the mold we had in several places: kitchen, bathroom and on the walls behind the cabinets. We eliminated moisture completely.
We replaced the oil boilers and pellet stoves with a thermo stove from the 29 KW "Vulcania." The thermo stove runs at idle speed and only at night. Thanks to the 4mm of its innovative product, the temperature in the 2 apartments remains constant at 17-18°C. I want to point out that the night temperature drops as low as -5°C. Now we spend 1200-1500 € annually on heating plus plumbing.
Thanks to AFONTERMO, we have healthy air in our home; important economic savings are achieved, and the environment is no longer polluted.
Best Regards
My client Mr. Scapecchi Severino, owner of a residential apartment located at via Don Silvano Nanni no. 33 in the town of Monte San Savino (AR), contacted me to find out how to solve a problem of surface condensation that was taking place in the cold winter months on the floor of some of his house’s rooms.
During the inspection in the aforementioned apartment, I verified the actual presence of the aforementioned problem only in the rooms facing north, used as bedrooms. These rooms are positioned above a driveway open on two sides from which they are separated by a prestressed hollow core slab (anchored on one side to the garage access wall and on the other side to a reinforced concrete wall against the ground). Furthermore, in the intrados (therefore above said lane) I found polystyrene panels used for insulation and featuring a 2cm (0.78 in) thickness.
I verified the presence of condensation by seeing water droplets on the entire surface of the single-fired floor of the above mentioned rooms facing north.
We decided to remove the polystyrene panels under the apartment’s attic, located above the open ramp. Then we cleaned the pre-existing support and applied two coats of AfonTermo type A (base coat, grain size 1/2 mm, or 0,03/0,078 in.) for one overall thickness of about 6 mm (0,24 in). In this way we made a nanocappotto replacing the current insulating layer. The following winter the aforementioned condensation phenomena were totally disappeared. If I have to be totally honest, some water droplets can still be found along the external perimeter of those rooms facing north, but the problem before was taking place on the entire floor surface of each single house room .
Considering that the two rooms in question are two single bedrooms in which all four of their children sleep (two per room) and that there is not sufficient air exchange during the night (except by creating a controlled mechanical ventilation system), we therefore suggested the owners to increase the rooms’ internal temperature and to install a dehumidifier. This in order to try to avoid (as far as possible) the onset of surface condensation. We also told them to open the windows immediately in the morning as soon as they got up, program the heating system to turn on in a different way, and by doing so all the condensation problems disappeared.
Having said that, considering the extent of the surface condensation phenomenon both before and after the installation of AfonTermo (caused however by other factors, which have now been resolved), we can safely declare the effectiveness of the carried out works. And therefore the great satisfaction of the house owner and mine too for the complete solution of the problem.
